The objectives of this study were the examination of genetic similarities in a diverse group of maize inbreds and an investigation of the incidence of shared haplotypes within closely related groups. Size polymorphisms from 218 mapped simple-sequence repeats (SSR) for 57 entries were detected with the ABI377 Prism system and scored with Genotyper software.
