Meanwhile, this book deals with a very specific topic that requires a basic understanding of the postwar Korea-Japan relations, without which it would be difficult to follow the essence of the book’s argument as it contains so much factual detail. This is not an easy read for any newcomer to Korean Studies. Yet, once completing the book, the reader will have a comprehensive knowledge of how the reparations issue developed, and why it continues to pose problems today.
