PURPOSE OF REVIEW This review aims to provide an overview of the evolving understanding of the pathophysiology of anaphylaxis. RECENT FINDINGS Immunopathologic mechanisms of anaphylaxis have traditionally focused on the IgE-dependent and IgE-independent release of mediators from mast cells and basophils.
