BACKGROUND Disorders of laughter and crying (DLC) are seen in several neuropsychiatric conditions. Their nomenclature remains under debate. METHODS We present the clinical and imaging findings of 17 patients with DLC and introduce a new classification based on phenomenology and pathogenesis.
