A survey of the Passalidae species recorded to the Ilha Grande (Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is presented, with illustrations for each species and a key with diagnosis for genera. Passalus (P.) denticollis Kaup, 1869 and Veturius (V.) transversus Dalman, 1817 was the relative abundance most dominate, representing almost 50% of relative abundance of species in each genus respectively.
