We present an overview of a perturbative-kinetic approach to jet propagation, energy loss, and momentum broadening in a high temperature quark-gluon plasma. The leading-order kinetic equations describe the interactions between energetic jet-particles and a non-abelian plasma, consisting of on-shell thermal excitations and soft gluonic fields. These interactions include 2 2 scatterings, collinear bremsstrahlung, and drag and momentum diffusion. We show how the contribution from the soft gluonic…
Jet-medium interactions at NLO in a weakly-coupled quark-gluon plasma
A bstractWe present an extension to next-to-leading order in the strong coupling constant g of the AMY effective kinetic approach to the energy loss of high momentum particles in the quark-gluon
Momentum broadening of energetic partons in an anisotropic plasma
The quark-gluon plasma produced in heavy-ion collisions is anisotropic throughout its evolution. This anisotropy changes the physics of jet-medium interaction, making it dependent on the momentum
Thermalization of mini-jets in a quark-gluon plasma
TLDR
The results support the following physical picture: the leading particle emits a significant number of mini-jets which promptly evolve via multiple branching and thus degrade into a myriad of soft gluons, with energies of the order of the medium temperature T .
Probes of strongly interacting plasma
In this thesis we discuss recent results on the medium/probe interaction in the strongly coupled plasma produced in heavy-ion collisions. Such processes involve physics at multiple energy scales
Transverse momentum broadening and collinear radiation at NLO in the N = 4 SYM plasma
We compute O(g) NLO corrections to the transverse scattering kernel and transverse momentum broadening coefficient q̂ of weakly-coupled N = 4 SYM. Based on this, we also compute NLO correction to the
Two-gluon emission and interference in a thin QCD medium: insights into jet formation
A bstractIn heavy-ion collisions, an abundant production of high-energy QCD jets allows to study how these multiparticle sprays are modified as they pass through the quark-gluon plasma. In order to
Jet Structure in Heavy Ion Collisions
We review recent theoretical developments in the study of the structure of jets that are produced in ultra relativistic heavy ion collisions. The core of the review focusses on the dynamics of the

Transverse momentum broadening and the jet quenching parameter, redux
We use Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) to analyze the transverse momentum broadening, or diffusion in transverse momentum space, of an energetic parton propagating through quark-gluon plasma.
Lattice study of the jet quenching parameter.
TLDR
How one can evaluate the soft contribution to the collision kernel characterizing this real-time phenomenon is explained, analyzing certain gauge-invariant operators in a dimensionally reduced effective theory (electrostatic QCD), which can be studied nonperturbatively via simulations on a Euclidean lattice.
O(g) plasma effects in jet quenching
We consider the bremsstrahlung energy loss of high-energy partons moving in the quark-gluon plasma, at weak coupling. We show that the rates for these processes receive large $O(g)$ corrections from
High-energy jet quenching in weakly coupled quark-gluon plasmas
q is the average squared transverse momentum transfer per unit length to a high-energy particle traversing a QCD medium such as a quark-gluon plasma. We find the (UV-regulated) value of q to leading
A hybrid strong/weak coupling approach to jet quenching
A bstractWe propose and explore a new hybrid approach to jet quenching in a strongly coupled medium. The basis of this phenomenological approach is to treat physics processes at different energy
Light-cone Wilson loop in classical lattice gauge theory
A bstractThe transverse broadening of an energetic jet passing through a non-Abelian plasma is believed to be described by the thermal expectation value of a light-cone Wilson loop. In this
