In this paper, we present a new partially coherent receiver architecture motivated by optimum detection of quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signals in the presence of time-varying Tikhonov-distributed residual phase estimation error due to phase-locked loop (PLL)-aided phase tracking scheme.
