Aim:  Asthma treatment according to guidelines fails frequently, through patients’ nonadherence to doctors’ advice. This study aimed to explore how differences in asthma care influence parents’ perceptions to inhaled corticosteroids (ICS).
Preschool children with high adherence to inhaled corticosteroids for asthma do not show behavioural problems
Aim:  To assess prevalence of behavioural problems in preschool children with asthma with electronically verified exposure to inhaled corticosteroids (ICS).
Association between parental expectation, parenting stress, and parents' adherence intention to medication therapy for children with asthma

How parental factors, namely parental expectation, parental perceived performance, parental confirmation, parental satisfaction, and parenting stress impact parents' intention to adhere to asthma medications (PIAAM) for their children is explored.
High inhaled corticosteroids adherence in childhood asthma: the role of medication beliefs
TLDR
The high adherence rate observed in this study was associated with parental perceptions about ICS need, and the high perceived need of ICS may probably be ascribed to the organisation of asthma care (with repeated tailored education and close follow-up).

The importance of illness perceptions and medication beliefs in determining adherence to maintenance medication in children with chronic respiratory disease will be highlighted, based on the common sense model of how people deal with a chronic illness.
Factors that Affect Adherence with Long-Term Controller Medications Used to Manage Asthma in Children

A literature review was performed to examine factors that affect adherence to LTC medications used to control asthma in children and found that poor adherence is a major concern.
Patterns of health care for children with asthma: A qualitative study
TLDR
The focus group discussion reveals that proper counseling system and home based asthma control monitoring system need to be put into place to offer all round asthma control.
Adolescent and parental perceptions about asthma and asthma management: a dyadic qualitative analysis.

TLDR
The findings lend preliminary support for an extended self-regulatory model of treatment adherence, which incorporates beliefs about treatment as well as illness perceptions, and show that non-adherent behaviours were associated with doubts about the necessity of medication and concerns about its potential adverse effects.
