Parasitic fungi on medicinal plants from India II. Some pycnidial and perithecial forms

The present paper comprises thirteen pycnidial and perithecial fungi parasitising on medicinal plants in India, among which four viz. Myiocopron indicum, Microthyrium subulaturn, Phoma nux-vomica and Stagonospora groverii are new species and the other fungi are new records from the country. During investigation of parasitic fungi on medicinal plants some Cerco~pora spp. (Gupta, t973) and some perithecial and pycnidial fungi were collected from the Ayurvedic garden of the Banaras Hindu University. Comparative observations indicated that some of them were species new to science and rest other constituted new record for India. An accotmt of these is presented in this paper. Type of the new species are being deposited at the Herb. Crypt. Ind. Orient. Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi and Commonwealth Mycological Institute, Kew, England. 1.
