The extradural neural axis compartment in the parasellar compartment has been repeatedly studied during the past 70 years. The anatomy of the cavernous sinus or parasellar compartment—as it was recently named by Parkinson—has now been termed the “perisellar area,” by François et al.,5 which is a misnomer. To include electron microscopy in the study of these compartments is of course a good idea; however, for practical surgical means it contributes no useful practical data. It has been known for…

Microsurgical anatomy and variations of the anterior clinoid process.
TLDR
This study contributes to the relationship of important vascular, neural, bone and dural layers of this region and also demonstrates the variations of ACP by means of microsurgical dissections and radiological examinations.

Extradural neural axis compartment.
TLDR
The lateral sellar compartment is an enlarged segment of this EDNAC along the skull base connecting the orbit with the extradural space through the superior orbital fissure and down the dorsum to Breschet's veins of the basilar process of the occipital bone.
The interperiosteo-dural concept applied to the perisellar compartment: a microanatomical and electron microscopic study.
TLDR
The existence of the EDNAC concept in the perisellar area is demonstrated by using dissected cadaveric heads and the reality of the concept of the meningeal layer with electron microscopy is verified.
Frontotemporal epidural approach to trigeminal neurinomas
TLDR
It is believed the best treatment for trigeminal neurinomas is complete microsurgical removal of the lesion, based on the own experience and on the published data.
