We theoretically investigate the creation of squeezed states of a Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC) trapped in a magnetic double well potential. The number or phase squeezed states are created by modulating the tunnel coupling between the two wells periodically with twice the Josephson frequency, i.e., through parametric amplification. Simulations are performed with the multi configurational Hartree method for bosons (MCTDHB). We employ optimal control theory to bring the condensate to a complete…

Optimal control of the transport of Bose-Einstein condensates with atom chips
Using Optimal Control Theory (OCT), it is shown that with such transport durations of the order of the trap period, one can recover the ground state of the final trap at the end of the transport.
Parametric excitation and squeezing in a many-body spinor condensate
A many-body control scheme to coherently excite and control the quantum spin states of an atomic Bose gas that realizes parametric excitation of many- body collective spin states by time varying the relative strength of the Zeeman and spin-dependent collisional interaction energies at multiples of the natural frequency of the system is demonstrated.
