New wireless technologies allow mobile nodes to move while communicating. Movement management is performed at different layers: at the 1ink layer for the change of access point and at the network layer for the change of IP subnet. New optimized proposals suggest to use infonnation from the link layer, called Link Hints, to enhance network layer management.
