A hybrid censoring scheme is a mixture of Type-I and Type-II censoring schemes. We study the estimation of parameters of weighted exponential distribution based on Type-II hybrid censored data. By applying the EM algorithm, maximum likelihood estimators are evaluated. Using Fisher information matrix, asymptotic confidence intervals are provided. By applying Markov chain Monte Carlo techniques, Bayes estimators, and corresponding highest posterior density confidence intervals of parameters are…
Estimation and Prediction for Type-II Hybrid Censored Data Follow Flexible Weibull Distribution
In this paper, we proposed Bayes estimators for estimating the parameters, reliability, hazard rate, mean time to failure from flexible Weibull distribution using Type-II hybrid censored sample.
Statistical inferences for type-II hybrid censoring data from the alpha power exponential distribution
A method for computing estimates for the location parameter μ > 0 and scale parameter λ > 0 with fixed shape parameter α of the alpha power exponential distribution (APED) under type-II hybrid censored (T-IIHC) samples is described.
Statistical Inference for the Weighted Exponential Distribution under Progressive Type-II Censoring with Binomial Removal
SYNOPTIC ABSTRACT In this article, we consider estimation of the unknown parameters of a weighted exponential distribution under Type II progressive censoring with binomial removals, where the number
Distributional Results for Dependent Type-II Hybrid Censored Order Statistics
The scheme of type-II hybrid censoring is of great value in life-testing experiments. In the literature, type-II hybrid censored order statistics are assumed to arise from independent random
Improved Statistical Inference for Three-Parameter Crack Lifetime Distribution
In this article, we develop the maximum likelihood estimation for the three-parameter of the Crack lifetime distribution and also consider the bias-reduction of the estimators obtained from the

A New Approach to Hybrid Censoring

Inference Based on Type-II Hybrid Censored Data From a Weibull Distribution
The statistical inferences on Weibull parameters when the data are type-II hybrid censored are presented and the method of obtaining the optimum censoring scheme based on the maximum information measure is developed.
On hybrid censored Weibull distribution
A hybrid censoring is a mixture of Type-I and Type-II censoring schemes. This article presents the statistical inferences on Weibull parameters when the data are hybrid censored. The maximum
Parameter estimation of the hybrid censored log-normal distribution
The two most common censoring schemes used in life-testing experiments are Type-I and Type-II censoring schemes. The hybrid censoring scheme is mixture of Type-I and Type-II censoring schemes. In
Estimating the Parameters of the Generalized Exponential Distribution in Presence of Hybrid Censoring
The two most popular censoring schemes are Type-I and Type-II censoring schemes. Hybrid censoring scheme is a mixture of Type-I and Type-II censoring schemes. In this article, we mainly consider the
Hybrid censoring schemes with exponential failure distribution
The mixture of Type I and Type I1 censoring schemes, called the hybrid censoring, is quite important in life–testing experiments. Epstein(1954, 1960) introduced this testing scheme and proposed a
Exact confidence bounds for an exponential parameter under hybrid censoring
Consider a life testing experiment in which n units are put on test, successive failure times are recorded, and the observation is terminated either at a specified number r of failures or a specified
Exact likelihood inference based on Type-I and Type-II hybrid censored samples from the exponential distribution
Chen and Bhattacharyya (1988,Comm. Statist. Theory Methods,17, 1857–1870) derived the exact distribution of the maximum likelihood estimator of the mean of an exponential distribution and an exact
Estimation of parameters from progressively censored data using EM algorithm
EM algorithm is used to determine the maximum likelihood estimates when the data are progressively Type II censored. The method is shown to be feasible and easy to implement. The asymptotic variances
Hybrid censoring: Models, inferential results and applications
This review discusses Type-I and Type-II hybrid censoring schemes and associated inferential issues, and describes inferential methods based on them, and point out their advantages and disadvantages.
A Confidence Interval for an Exponential Parameter from a Hybrid Life Test
Abstract In life testing, type I and type II censoring may be combined to form a hybrid life test. Epstein (1954) introduced this testing scheme and Epstein (1960b) proposed a two-sided confidence
