Frustrated magnetism on the kagome lattice has been a fertile ground for rich and fascinating physics, ranging from experimental evidence of a spin liquid to theoretical predictions of exotic superconductivity. Among experimentally realized spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ kagome magnets, herbertsmithite, kapellasite, and haydeeite [(Zn,Mg)Cu$_{3}$(OH)$_{6}$Cl$_{2}$] are all well described by a three-parameter Heisenberg model, but they exhibit distinctly different physics. We address the problem using a…

μ SR insight into the impurity problem in quantum kagome antiferromagnets
Impurities, which are unavoidable in real materials, may play an important role in the magnetism of frustrated spin systems with a spin-liquid ground state. We address the impurity issue in quantum
Phase diagram of a distorted kagome antiferromagnet and application to Y-kapellasite
We investigate the magnetism of a previously unexplored distorted spin-1/2 kagome model consisting of three symmetry-inequivalent nearest-neighbor antiferromagnetic Heisenberg couplings J ⬡ , J , and
Coexistence of magnetic order and persistent spin dynamics in a quantum kagome antiferromagnet with no intersite mixing
One of the key questions concerning frustrated lattices that has lately emerged is the role of disorder in inducing spin-liquid-like properties. In this context, the quantum kagome antiferromagnets
Quantum paramagnetism and helimagnetic orders in the Heisenberg model on the body centered cubic lattice
We investigate the spin $S=1/2$ Heisenberg model on the body centered cubic lattice in the presence of ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic nearest-neighbor $J_{1}$, second-neighbor $J_{2}$, and
Spin liquid nature in the Heisenberg J1-J2 triangular antiferromagnet
We investigate the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ Heisenberg model on the triangular lattice in the presence of nearest-neighbor $J_1$ and next-nearest-neighbor $J_2$ antiferromagnetic couplings. Motivated by
From kagome strip to kagome lattice: Realizations of frustrated S=12 antiferromagnets in Ti(III) fluorides
We investigate the connection between highly frustrated kagome based Hamiltonians and a recently synthesized family of materials containing Ti3+ S=1/2 ions. Employing a combination of all electron
A kagome map of spin liquids from XXZ to Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya ferromagnet
TLDR
The present work provides a unifying theory of kagome spin liquids with time-reversal invariant nearest-neighbour Hamiltonians and joins the celebrated Heisenberg antiferromagnet to a triad of equivalently disordered phases.
Negative-vector-chirality 120∘ spin structure in the defect- and distortion-free quantum kagome antiferromagnet YCu3(OH)6Cl3
The magnetic ground state of the ideal quantum kagome antiferromagnet (QKA) has been a long-standing puzzle, mainly because perturbations to the nearest-neighbor isotropic Heisenberg Hamiltonian can
Quantum and Classical Phases of the Pyrochlore Heisenberg Model with Competing Interactions
We investigate the quantum Heisenberg model on the pyrochlore lattice for a generic spin-$S$ in the presence of nearest-neighbor $J_{1}$ and second-nearest-neighbor $J_{2}$ exchange interactions. By
Doping-induced redistribution of magnetic spectral weight in the substituted hexaborides Ce1-xLaxB6 and Ce1-xNdxB6
We investigate the doping-induced changes in the electronic structure of CeB$_6$ on a series of substituted Ce$_{1-x}R_x$B$_6$ samples ($R$ = La, Nd) using diffuse neutron scattering. We observe a

Efficient iterative schemes for ab initio total-energy calculations using a plane-wave basis set.
TLDR
An efficient scheme for calculating the Kohn-Sham ground state of metallic systems using pseudopotentials and a plane-wave basis set is presented and the application of Pulay's DIIS method to the iterative diagonalization of large matrices will be discussed.
Generalized Gradient Approximation Made Simple.
TLDR
A simple derivation of a simple GGA is presented, in which all parameters (other than those in LSD) are fundamental constants, and only general features of the detailed construction underlying the Perdew-Wang 1991 (PW91) GGA are invoked.
Cu3MgCl2(OH)6 and the bond-valence parameters of the OH-Cl bond.
TLDR
The title compound is a new mineral consisting of sheets made from edge-sharing Cu(OH)4Cl2 and Mg( OH)6 octahedra, giving rise to perfect cleavage along (001) and to strong texture effects in powder diffraction measurements.
