We consider two models of °ow and transport in porous media, the ̄rst one for consolidational °ow in compressible sedimentary basins, the second one for °ow in partially saturated media. Despite the di®erences in these physical settings, they lead to quite similar mathematical models with a strong pressure coupling. The ̄rst model is a coupled system of pde's of parabolic type.
