The standard breaker model used in transient analysis applications is an ideal switch. It is allowed to open on current crossing zero and may include a current margin parameter for approximate modeling of possible current chopping. Such a model is applicable in studies where the interaction between the breaker arc and the surrounding network can be neglected.
