BACKGROUND/AIMS Duodenum-preserving pancreatic head resection has been performed for benign pancreatic head diseases. Complete resection of the pancreatic head with preservation of common bile duct and the duodenum sometimes causes common bile duct or duodenal necrosis due to ischemia.
