This study aimed to examine the skeletal, dental, and soft tissue effects of the implant-supported pendulum (ISP) and the zygoma anchorage system (ZAS) used for the distalization of maxillary posterior teeth. Among 30 patients showing Angle class II malocclusion, 15 patients with a mean age of 14.3±1.6 years and treated with ISP were included in the first group; 15 patients with a mean age of 14.7±2.5 years and treated with ZAS were included in the second group. The predistalization and…

Changes consequent to maxillary molar distalization with the bone-anchored pendulum appliance
TLDR
The bone-anchored pendulum appliance proved to be an effective method for distalization of maxillary molars in cases that require maximum anchorage, avoiding reciprocal mesial movement of premolars and incisors.
Distalization of the entire maxillary arch with mini-implants in the posterior palatal alveolus- A case report
TLDR
The posterior alveolus may be considered as a new and appropriate site for placement of mini-implant to bring about distal movement of the entire maxillary dentition.
Modified Palatal Plate
TLDR
This chapter has introduced the modified palatal anchorage plate (MPAP) appliance for maxillary arch distalization, its clinical relevance, indications, complications, and treatment outcome.
Evaluation of Dentoalveolar and Dentofacial Effects of a Mini-Screw-Anchored Pendulum Appliance in Maxillary Molar Distalization.
TLDR
A mini-screw-anchored pendulum appliance is an effective method for maxillary molar distalization that controls the undesired anchorage loss observed in conventional methods.
Comparison of skeletal anchorage distalizers effect in maxillary buccal segment: A systematic review.
TLDR
There was evidence that both of skeletal anchorage systems are effective nonextractive therapy for Angle Class II malocclusion and maxillary buccal segment distalization in greater than 3 mm space deficiency.
An Active, Skeletally Anchored Transpalatal Appliance for Derotation, Distalization and Vertical Control of Maxillary First Molars
TLDR
The skeletal ‘Frog’ appliance is effective in derotating and distalizing maxillary molars without anchorage loss and with excellent vertical control.
Clinical applications and treatment outcomes with modified C-palatal plates
TLDR
The modified C-palatal plate (MCPP) successfully distalizes maxillary teeth while limiting unwanted effects associated with other maxillary distalization appliances, and provides statistically significant improved tooth movement.
1 LASER STRENGTHENS THE REPAIR OF THE MIDPALATAL SUTURE AFTER RME
TLDR
Results showed that the laser appears to stimulate the repair process of suturing and also osteogenesis, and it is noteworthy that, although encouraging, results are primary and obtained in dogs, requiring confirmation in humans.
Orthodontic treatment for prominent upper front teeth (Class II malocclusion) in children and adolescents.
BACKGROUND Prominent upper front teeth are a common problem affecting about a quarter of 12-year-old children in the UK. The condition develops when permanent teeth erupt. These teeth are more likely

Comparison of the zygoma anchorage system with cervical headgear in buccal segment distalization.
TLDR
The ZAS provided absolute anchorage for distalization of the maxillary posterior teeth and can be used as an aesthetic and non-compliant alternative to extraoral traction in the treatment of Class II malocclusions in comparison with cervical headgear.

Intraosseous Screw-Supported Upper Molar Distalization
TLDR
Investigation of the efficiency of intraosseous screws for anchorage in maxillary molar distalization and the sagittal and vertical skeletal, dental, and soft tissue changes after maxillaryMolar Distalization using intraosSEous screw-supported anchorage found it successful in achieving sufficient molardistalization without major anchorage loss.

Maxillary molar distalization with a bone-anchored pendulum appliance.
TLDR
The bone-anchored pendulum appliance (BAPA) was found to be an effective, minimally invasive, and compliance-free intraoral distalization appliance for achieving both molar and premolar Distalization without any anchorage loss.

TLDR
The results might support the use of the microscrew implants as an anchorage for group distal movement of the teeth.

Bodily distalization of molars with absolute anchorage.
TLDR
Use of a three-dimensional surgical template eliminated implant placement errors, reduced chair time, minimized trauma to the tissues, and enhanced osseointegration, and this method can be used effectively to achieve distalization of molars bodily without anchorage loss.
