Current practice of paint condition assessment on civil structures typically involves labour-intensive and time-consuming visual inspections. This can be particularly costly for large and complex structures. In this study, hyperspectral imaging and classification techniques are proposed as a method to objectively assess the state of the paint on a civil or other structure.
