Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPARγ) is a transcription factor that regulates lipid metabolism and inflammatory responses. Certain PPARγ ligands improve nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The role of PPARγ itself in NASH remains poorly understood.
