Objective: This study was designed to explore the benefit of curcumin as adjuvant therapy to the standard Helicobacter pylori eradication triple therapy in both duodenal and gastric ulcers patients. Methods: The present study enrolled 40 patients newly diagnosed endoscopically with peptic ulcer disease to be allocated into group 1 treated with standard H. pylori eradication triple therapy, and group 2 patients treated with curcumin (500 mg) capsules three times daily for 14 days as an adjuvant…

CLINICAL EVALUATION OF TRIPLE AND QUADRUPLE HELICOBACTER PYLORI ERADICATION THERAPY IN PEPTIC ULCER PATIENTS WITH DIFFERENT ABO BLOOD GROUP PHENOTYPES

Lower eradication rate in H. pylori-infected was noticed in peptic ulcer patients carrying blood Group O mainly than those with other blood groups and particularly those with duodenal Ulceri.

The Effect of Probiotic Supplement as Adjuvant Therapy on Dyspeptic Symptoms and Quality of Life during Helicobacter pylori Eradication Therapy in a Sample of Iraqi Patients with Peptic Ulcer Disease

It is concluded that the administra¬tion of probiotics as adjuvant to standard triple therapy may suggest a role in improving the symptoms and reduce the adverse effects accompanying with the eradication therapy for H. pylori thus improving patient's quality of life.

Effect of Moxifloxacin-Triple Therapy Versus Clarithromycin-Triple Therapy for the Eradication of Helicobacter Pylori Infections Regarding to Age and BMI.

The present study concluded that the administration of moxifloxacin triple regimen for H. pylori eradication demonstrated eradication effectiveness was significantly higher compared to that of clarithromycin triple regimen.

Cyclooxygenase inhibition with curcumin in Helicobacter pylori infection

Treatment with curcumin significantly decreases the COX-2 expression, and the addition ofCurcumin to the diet may be an interesting approach for areas of high H. pylori prevalence.

Melatonin produced marked improvement in the disease activity status in both Crohn’s disease and UC after receiving melatonin adjuvant in active stage of disease, and notable modulation of inflammatory biomarkers with no clear role on MMP-9 expression.

Evaluation of Gastroprotective Activity of Licorice and Turmeric Rhizome Aqueous Extract against Ethanol-Induced Gastric Injury in Male Wistar Rats

The findings of this study confirm the gastroprotective activity of Curcuma and licorice extract against ethanol-induced gastric injury and remarkably attenuated gastric acidity and the number of ethanol- induced gastric lesions.

Effect of Curcumin Supplement on Pulmonary Functions, Total and Differential White Blood Cell Count, Serum Level of Leptin and Body Mass Index in a Sample of Iraqi Patients with Chronic Bronchial Asthma

Evaluation of the effect of curcumin as supplement therapy on the pulmonary function, total and differential white blood cell count and metabolic status of chronic bronchial asthmatic patients revealed significant improvement in forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and the ratio of Forced vital capacity (FVC) in group 2 patients after two months.

Curcumin reduces malondialdehyde and improves antioxidants in humans with diseased conditions: a comprehensive meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Subgroup analyses displayed that curcumin could significantly reduce MDA levels with or without use of piperine, however it could increase SOD level in presence of pipersine, which suggest thatCurcumin may be used as an adjunct therapy in individuals with oxidative stress.

ENHANCEMENT OF THE RELEASE OF CURCUMIN BY THE FREEZE DRYING TECHNIQUE USING INULIN AND NEUSILIN AS CARRIERS

Objective: Curcumin (CUR), the active ingredient in turmeric has been proven to possess many therapeutic activities chiefly as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Unfortunately, CUR suffers from low

Curcumin Inhibits Gastric Inflammation Induced by Helicobacter Pylori Infection in a Mouse Model

Curcumin treatment exerted a significant anti-inflammatory effect in H. pylori-infected mucosa, pointing to the promising role of a nutritional approach in the prevention of H.pylori induced deleterious inflammation while the eradication or prevention of colonization by effective vaccine is not available.

Comparative Evaluation of the Anti-ulcer Activity of Curcumin and Omeprazole during the Acute Phase of Gastric Ulcer—Efficacy of Curcumin in Gastric Ulcer Prevention against Omeprazole

Curcumin and omeprazole are potentially preventing gastric lesions development in the gastric wall during the acute phase of gastric ulcer diseases, but curcumin was more potent in its effect.

Meta-analysis: Duration of First-Line Proton-Pump InhibitorBased Triple Therapy for Helicobacter pylori Eradication

An updated meta-analysis of RCTs comparing the efficacy of different durations of triple therapy is performed to verify whether current recommendations reflect the available data and to determine the optimum duration for PPI-based triple therapy for H. pylori eradication.
