To verify the efficacy of M. spaientum L. leaves extract as a cosmetic raw material, active compound of Banana leaves extract and anti-wrinkle efficacy was determined. METHODS a) Preparation of M. spaientum L. leaves extract: Dried Banana leaves were extracted with water (80 degree Celsius) or 70% ethanol (60 degree Celsius) for 4 hours. Crude extracts were concentrated with filtration, re-crystallization and drying. Purified extract were obtained from dried crude extract with removal of…

Plant Fortification of the Diet for Anti-Ageing Effects: A Review

TLDR
Dietary antioxidants such as adaptogens, anthocyanins, vitamins A/D/C/E and isoflavones slow the ageing phenomena by reducing ROS production in the cells, thereby improving the life span of living organisms.

Effects of ethanol extract of Nelumbo nucifera leaves on Anti-oxidation and Type I Procollagen Expression in CCD-986sk Cells

TLDR
Results suggest that Nelumbo nucifera leaves (ENL) has anti-oxidant and anti-furrowing effects.

Blackberry leaf extract: a multifunctional anti‐aging active

TLDR
It is found that blackberry leaf extract inhibits IL-1α, a cytokine known to induce MMP expression and exhibited a potent radical scavenging activity comparable to that of α-tocopherol as was shown by the ABTS assay.

Green tea polyphenolic antioxidants and skin photoprotection (Review).

TLDR
The photoprotective effects of green tea polyphenols to skin are reviewed and analyzed to review and analyze the protective effects ofgreen tea treatment on human skin either topically or orally against UV light-induced inflammatory or carcinogenic responses.

A rapid and sensitive screening system for human type I collagen with the aim of discovering potent anti-aging or anti-fibrotic compounds.

TLDR
It was concluded that Vitamin C, undecylenic acid, conjugated linoleic acid, glycolic Acid, and citric acid at 100 microM concentration could be used for anti-wrinkling or protection from premature aging, which requires enhancement of collagen synthesis.

Matrix metalloproteinase-1 inhibitory activity of Kaempferia pandurata Roxb.

TLDR
The results strongly suggest that K. pandurata is potentially useful for the prevention and treatment of skin aging.

The Effects of Genistein on the Proliferation and Type I pN Collagen Synthesis in Aged Normal Human Fibroblasts

TLDR
Genistein may be a useful agent for preventing intrinsic aging as well as photoaging after glycolysis of genistin, a kind of phytoestrogen present in soybeans.

Matrix metalloproteinases in skin

TLDR
The role of MMPs and TIMPs in human skin based on new observations on the regulation of the expression of M MPs, on their substrate specificily, and MMP expression in physiologic and pathologic conditions of skin involving matrix remodeling are discussed.

Histologic Changes in the Skin with Photoaging

TLDR
Korean, the histologic changes in the skin with photoaging are distinct from those in theSkin with intrinsic aging, with a decreasing tendency in the epidermal thickness.

How matrix metalloproteinases regulate cell behavior.

TLDR
Recent advances shed light on how the structure and function of the MMPs are related and on how their transcription, secretion, activation, inhibition, localization, and clearance are controlled.
