In this paper, we present a list of polychaetous annelids collected along of the coast of the State of Paraiba, Brazil. A total of 103 species were recorded, belonging to 32 families. Eighteen species and 2 genera are new records for South America, and 89 species represent new records for Brazil. This list is the first attempt to describe the diversity of marine polychaetes in our region. <

TLDR
Collection of polychaetes from intertidal coralline rocks and several shallow sub-tidal sites on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica have been examined and 68 species were identified, 66 of which are new records for Costa Rica. Expand
A catalogue of the scaleworm genus Lepidonotus (Polynoidae, Polychaeta) from South America, with two new records for Brazilian waters
TLDR
A catalogue of 18 nominal species and subspecies of Lepidonotus from South America is provided, with valid names, synonyms and original citations, based on new specimens collected along the littoral of the State of Paraíba, northeastern Brazil. Expand
Do Morphological Similarities and human-induced dispersal explain the non-native occurrence of Serpulidae (Annelida) in Southwest Atlantic? Taxonomic detailing is the key
TLDR
Three new records of serpulid species to the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil are reported, and the misidentification of Spirobranchus tetraceros is discussed. Expand
Inventory of mollusks from the estuary of the Paraíba River in northeastern Brazil
TLDR
The results show that the study area has considerable species richness of Mollusca, requiring environmental monitoring in the region mainly due to the economic importance of some species to the local population. Expand
Hesionidae Grube, 1850 (Annelida: Polychaeta) from South-Southeastern Brazil, with descriptions of four new species.
TLDR
Five hesionid species were found in South-Southeastern Brazil; four are newly described and Podarkeopsis levisfuscina Perkins, 1984 is redescribed and Micropodarke pleijeli n. Expand
A new species of Paraonis and an annotated checklist of polychaetes from mangroves of the Brazilian Amazon Coast (Annelida, Paraonidae)
TLDR
The polychaete fauna from the mangroves of the Amazon Coast in Maranhão state, Brazil, is reported in this study and Paraonis amazonica sp. Expand
Isolation and Characterization of Polymorphic Microsatellite loci from the Invasive Worm Branchiomma luctuosum (Grube, 1870) (Annelida: Sabellidae)
TLDR
Nine highly polymorphic microsatellite loci were isolated and their polymorphism levels were evaluated and significant deviations from the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were detected at several loci and most of them were related to a heterozygous deficit. Expand
Isolation and Characterization of New Polymorphic Microsatellite Markers from the Invasive Worm Branchiomma
Introduction of exotic species in new areas through anthropic action is one of the major problems that can affect biodiversity. Branchiomma luctuosum is known for its highly invasive potential andExpand
First Record of Pallenopsis Fluminensis (Krøyer, 1844) (Pycnogonida: Pallenopsidae) for the Coast of the State of Paraíba (Northeastern Brazil)
TLDR
A pycnogonid species classified in the family Pallenopsidae Fry, 1978 and the genus Pallenopsis Wilson, 1881 is recorded in this study for the coast of the state of Paraiba in northeastern Brazil based on the identification of three female specimens collected from the infralittoral zone at depths of 12 to 34 meters. Expand
