The PL/I language has been updated with a new compiler for OS/2.What's in it?How is it better than existing versions?In this Paper the enhancements over OS PL/I Version 2 (IBM, 1990a, b) are outlined. The new features include strongly-typed list-processing facilities in which declarations and built-in functions bind the pointer to a particular data structure template; ordinals; and a host of built-in functions.
