The value of phenoxypropazine in reactive depressions with prominent anxiety was investigated by comparing the effect of phenoxypropazine plus chlordiazepoxide with that of chlordiazepoxide alone on 60 outpatients. The outcome of patients on the combined treatment was good and significantly better than those receiving chlordiazepoxide only. Subjects with a good previous personality responded best to both treatments, more doing so with phenoxypropazine than without. Those with poor personalities…
