The main aim of the current paper is to demonstrate the capability of a two-phase closed thermosyphon loop system to cool down a contemporary datacenter rack, passively cooling the entire rack, including its numerous servers. The effects on the cooling loop performance with respect to the server orientation, microevaporator design, riser and downcomer diameters, working fluid, and approach temperature at the condenser have been modeled and simulated. The influence of the thermosyphon height…

Cooling capacity of experimental system with natural refrigerant circulation and condenser radiative cooling

The surface of the Earth is a source of radiation of thermal energy, which, passing through the atmosphere, is partially absorbed while the bulk of the energy is released into the surrounding outer

Building an adaptive hybrid model for short-term prediction of power consumption using a neural network

TLDR
A step-by-step technique for combining basic models that forecast electricity consumption in an artificial neural network by the method of preliminary selection and further hybridization is proposed; the devised forecasting electricity consumption model can be integrated into an automated electricity metering system.

Development and Investigation of a Two-Phase Loop Thermosiphon with a Flat Evaporator at Different Slope Angles

We present the results of the development and experimental studies of a two-phase loop thermosiphon with a flat evaporator and ethanol as the working fluid. We investigate the thermal characteristics

Thermal Performance of a Loop Thermosyphon

ABSTRACT Experimental investigations were performed on a loop thermosyphon, consisting of a condensation section and an evaporation section. The evaporator chamber used in this study has an inside

Flow Boiling of R134a in a Multi-Microchannel Heat Sink With Hotspot Heaters for Energy-Efficient Microelectronic CPU Cooling Applications

This paper focuses on two-phase flow boiling of refrigerant R134a inside a copper multi-microchannel heat sink for microelectronic central processing unit cooling applications. The heat sink is

Green Cooling of High Performance Microprocessors: Parametric Study Between Flow Boiling and Water Cooling

Due to the increase in energy prices and spiralling consumption, there is a need to greatly reduce the cost of electricity within data centers, where it makes up 50% of the total cost of the IT

Smart pumpless loop for micro-channel electronic cooling using flat and enhanced surfaces

Two-phase cooling of a square simulated electronic device surface of 21.3 mm side was successfully carried out without the need for a pump. This smart, passive cooling system incorporates a

Experimental study on a separate type thermosyphon

The passages of vapor flow and the returning liquid flow, are perfectly partitioned in a separate thermosyphon. Therefore the flooding limit can be eliminated, and practicability based on its
