A comparative study of various parametrizations of the dark energy equation of state is made. Astrophysical constraints from LSS, CMB and BBN are laid down to test the physical viability and cosmological compatibility of these parametrizations. A critical evaluation of the four-index parametrizations reveals that Hannestad–Mortsell as well as Lee parametrizations are simple and transparent in probing the evolution of the dark energy during the expansion history of the universe and they satisfy… Expand

The effects of parametrization of the dark energy equation of state
We investigate in detail the influence of parametrizations of the dark energy equation of state on reconstructing dark energy geometrical parameters, such as the deceleration parameter q(z) and OmExpand
Dark energy parametrizations and their effect on dark halos
There are a plethora of dark energy parametrizations that can fit current supernovae Ia data. However, these data are only sensitive to redshifts up to order one. In fact, many of theseExpand
Revisiting the parametrization of equation of state of dark energy via SNIa data
In this paper, we revisit the parametrizations of the equation of state of dark energy and point out that comparing merely the χ 2 of different fittings may not be optimal for choosing the ‘best’Expand
Elucidating Dark Energy with Future 21 cm Observations
We investigate how precisely we can determine the nature of dark energy such as the equation of state (EoS) and its time dependence by using future observations of 21 cm fluctuations such as SquareExpand
Dark energy model selection with current and future data
The main goal of the next generation of weak lensing probes is to constrain cosmological parameters by measuring the mass distribution and geometry of the low redshift Universe and thus to test theExpand
Cosmological equation of state and interacting energies
In this paper we study a model of cosmic evolution, assuming that the different components of the universe could interact between them any time. An effective equation of state (EOS) for the universeExpand
Accelerating Universe: Observational Status and Theoretical Implications
This is a pedagogical review of the recent observational data obtained from type Ia supernova (SnIa) surveys that support the accelerating expansion of the universe. The methods for the analysis ofExpand
Constraining dark energy using observational growth rate data
Abstract Observational growth rate data had been derived from observations of redshift distortions in galaxy redshift surveys. Here we use the growth rate data to place constraints on the dark energyExpand
Modelling dark energy
One of the most pressing, modern cosmological mysteries is the cause of the accelerated expansion of the universe. The energy density required to cause this large scale opposition to gravity is knownExpand
A comprehensive comparison of cosmological models from the latest observational data
We carry out a detailed investigation of some popular cosmological models in light of the latest observational data, including the Union2.1 supernovae compilation, the baryon acoustic oscillationExpand

Constraints on the dark energy equation of state from recent supernova data
Measurements suggest that our universe has a substantial dark energy component. The most recent data on type Ia supernovae give a dark energy density which is in good agreement with otherExpand
Model independent approach to the dark energy equation of state
The consensus of opinion in cosmology is that the Universe is currently undergoing a period of accelerated expansion. With current and proposed high precision experiments it offers the hope of beingExpand
Can luminosity distance measurements probe the equation of state of dark energy
Abstract Distance measurements to type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) at cosmological distances indicate that the Universe is accelerating and that a large fraction of the critical energy density exists in aExpand
Model-independent analysis of dark energy: supernova fitting result
This paper uses supernova data to explore the property of dark energy by some model-independent methods. We first Taylor expand the scale factor a(t) and the luminosity distance dL to the fifth orderExpand
Uncorrelated estimates of dark energy evolution
Type Ia supernova data have recently become strong enough to enable, for the first time, constraints on the time variation of the dark energy density and its equation of state. Most analyses,Expand

Unified dark energy models: A phenomenological approach
A phenomenological approach is proposed to the problem of the accelerated expansion of the Universe and of the nature of dark energy. A general class of models is introduced whose energy densityExpand

TLDR
The extent to which precision distance-redshift observations can map out the recent expansion history of the universe, including the acceleration-deceleration transition, and the components and equations of state of the energy density is examined. Expand
A theoretician's analysis of the supernova data and the limitations in determining the nature of dark energy
Current cosmological observations show a strong signature of the existence of a dark energy component with negative pressure. The most obvious candidate for this dark energy is the cosmologicalExpand
Dynamical dark energy: Current constraints and forecasts
We consider how well the dark energy equation of state w as a function of redshift z will be measured using current and anticipated experiments. We use a procedure which takes fair account of theExpand
