The lifetime of the CRT with electron reflecting coating is mainly determined by the amount of carbonate in the coating. The carbonate is formed by the reaction of water glass and CO2 in air. Its amount is affected by the moisture in air during the process of making the coating, low moisture reduces the amount of carbonate formation, and a good quality CRT are realized both in life and landing characteristics.
