Chronic wounds present a significant burden to the health care system and the patient. Ozone therapy has been proposed as a treatment for chronic wounds, potentially acting by eliciting mild oxidative stress or disinfection. The purpose of this systematic review is to evaluate the potential benefits and harms of ozone therapy as an advanced care intervention for chronic wounds. Studies were extracted from Google Scholar, PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and reference lists. General inclusion…
A systematic review of ozone therapy for treating chronically refractory wounds and ulcers
Compared with standard control therapy for diabetic foot ulcers, ozone therapy regardless of monotherapy or combined control treatment markedly accelerated the improvement of the wound area and reduced the amputation rate but there is no improvement in the proportion of participants with completely healed wounds and length of hospital stay.
Effects of ozone for treating chronically refractory wounds and ulcers
A systematic review and meta-analysis will find out the available evidence to assess whether ozone therapy is beneficial to wound healing and side effects, producing evidence reference for clinical practice on the treatment of wound care.
Effectiveness of Ozone Therapy as an Adjunct Treatment for Lower-Limb Ulcers: A Systematic Review
The ozone therapy protocols demonstrated a healing effect in all included studies, and none reported adverse effects, which reinforces the need for more controlled and randomized clinical trials to determine the effectiveness of this treatment and establish clinical criteria for its use.
Evaluation of the effect of ozone therapy in diabetic foot ulcers
The use of local ozone therapy markedly improves healing of diabetic foot ulcers with low incidence of recurrence and a significant reduction in the length of treatment and size of the ulcer in the healing group.
Efficacy of Ozone Therapy in the Treatment of Tinnitus: A Systematic Review
High-level evidence, such as well-conducted randomized clinical trials, are still needed to confirm the efficacy and safety of ozone therapy in the treatment of tinnitus.
Local Ozone Therapy in Complex Treatment of Venous Leg Ulcers: Ozone therapy for venous leg ulcers.
Local ozone therapy of venous leg ulcers accelerate the healing process of ulcers in objective planimetric assessment and reduce the intensity of pain ailments.
Is ozone effective in reducing pain, edema, and trismus after third molar surgery? A systematic review
There is insufficient evidence to indicate the use of ozone as a complementary therapy during the extraction of third molars, and all studies found significant results for pain reduction after one, three, and seven days.

This comprehensive review suggests that O2O3 therapy might reduce serum levels of interleukin 6 in patients with TMD, low back pain, knee osteoarthritis and rheumatic diseases with a concrete and measurable interaction with the inflammatory pathway.
Diabetic Foot Ulcers: Current Advances in Antimicrobial Therapies and Emerging Treatments
The currently available approaches in the managing and treatment of DFUs are compiled, including molecular and regenerative medicine, antimicrobial and energy-based therapies, and the use of plant extracts, antimacterial peptides, growth factors, ozone, devices, and nano-medicine to offer an overview of the assessment of this condition.

Efficacy of ozone-oxygen therapy for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.
Among PP patients, ozone treatment in addition to conventional treatment was superior toventional treatment alone in promoting the complete healing of diabetic foot ulcers.
