In hypercholesterolemia, low density lipoproteins (LDLs) may be oxidized by monocytes/macrophages in the arterial wall. Therefore, we investigated the effect of LDL and its oxidative derivatives (ox-LDL) on vascular tone in isolated perfused rabbit femoral arteries.
