As an outstanding member in the oxide nanowire family, ZnO nanowire is widely studied for its optical, semiconductive, and piezoelectric properties. PbZrxTi1–xO3 (PZT), usually in the form of polycrystalline thin films, is known for its high piezoelectric coefficient and is an ideal material as actuator. In this review, we first briefly introduce the rational growth of ZnO and PZT nanowire arrays by seedless wet chemical methods. Utilizing the ordered ZnO nanowires grown on p-type substrates…
The fabrication and pyroelectric properties of single crystalline PZT nanorod synthesized by hydrothermal reaction
In this paper, the effect of surfactant polyvinylalcohol (PVA) and polyacrylate acid (PAA) on shape evolution of Pb(Zr0.3Ti0.7)O3 (PZT) nano materials synthesized by hydrothermal method was studied.

Experimental study on broadband bistable energy harvester with L-shaped piezoelectric cantilever beam
Abstract This paper presents an experimental study of the broadband energy harvesting and dynamic responses of an L-shaped piezoelectric cantilever beam. Experimental results show that the L-shaped
Zirconium Hydroxide-coated Nanofiber Mats for Nerve Agent Decontamination.
The composite nanofibers show high decontamination efficiency against diisopropylfluorophosphate, which is a nerve agent analogue, due to its high nucleophilicity that aids in the catalysis of the hydrolysis of the phosphonate ester bonds.

Study on power generations and dynamic responses of the bistable straight beam and the bistable L-shaped beam
In this paper, a simplified model of the bistable piezoelectric cantilever beam with magnets is established, and the potential energy of the bistable system is analyzed. We have proposed the bistable

The new field of nanopiezotronics
Semiconducting and piezoelectric nanowires and nanobelts have exciting applications in electronics, optoelectronics, sensors, and the biological sciences. We review the use of ZnO nanowires and
Directed integration of ZnO nanobridge devices on a Si substrate
We demonstrate the directed assembly and integration of ZnO nanobridges into working devices on silicon-on-insulator substrates. The “pick and place” method of nanowire integration is avoided and
GaN/ZnO nanorod light emitting diodes with different emission spectra.
Light emitting diodes consisting of p-GaN epitaxial films and n-ZnO nanorods have been fabricated and characterized and the emission spectra were significantly affected by both the properties of the GaN substrate and the annealing conditions for the ZnO Nanorods.
Growth of Arrayed Nanorods and Nanowires of ZnO from Aqueous Solutions
A novel approach to the rational fabrication of smart and functional metal oxide particulate thin films and coatings is demonstrated on the growth of ZnO nanowires and oriented nanorod arrays. The

We present results on enhancement of 460 nm blue and 340 nm UV optical power output in III-nitride light emitting diodes (LEDs) using photonic crystals (PCs) under current injection. Triangular
Enhanced piezoelectricity and stretchability in energy harvesting devices fabricated from buckled PZT ribbons.
This work generates wavy piezoelectric ribbons on silicone rubber, a novel strategy for overcoming limitations in the integration of energy conversion devices which operate in stretching mode via reversible deformations in the wavy/buckled ribbons.
Hydrogen-treated TiO2 nanowire arrays for photoelectrochemical water splitting.
The first demonstration of hydrogen treatment as a simple and effective strategy to fundamentally improve the performance of TiO(2) nanowires for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting and opening up new opportunities in various areas, including PEC water splitting, dye-sensitized solar cells, and photocatalysis.
Strong piezoelectricity in bioinspired peptide nanotubes.
Anomalously strong shear piezoelectric activity in self-assembled diphenylalanine peptide nanotubes (PNTs) is shown, indicating electric polarization directed along the tube axis, opening up a wide avenue for developing new generations of "green" piezOElectric materials and piezonanodevices based on bioactive tubular nanostructures potentially compatible with human tissue.
Nanotechnology is the set of technologies that enables the manipulation, study or exploitation of very small (typically less than 100 nanometres) structures and systems. To put this into perspective,
Autoionization of triply excited rydberg series
It is shown that in hollow atoms the Auger decay rates for Rydberg series of the type 2l2l(')nl(") with n>/=2 are expected to be nearly independent of n, while for doubly excited series of this type the decay rate in general decreases with increasing n.
