Oxaliplatin is a platinum-organic drug with antineoplastic properties used for colorectal cancer. With respect to the other platinum derivates oxaliplatin induces only a mild hematological and gastrointestinal toxicity. Its limiting side effect is its neurotoxicity, which results in a sensory neuropathy.
