The oviposition behaviour of the brassica pod midge, Dasineura brassicae Winn. (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae), on a ‘preferred’ host, Brassica napus L. (summer oilseed rape) was compared to that on a ‘non-preferred’, less suitable host for larval growth, Brassica juncea (L.) Coss & Czern (brown mustard).
