Glucocorticoids have been used for over 50 years in the treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases and in preventing graft rejection. Today, knowledge of their molecular, cellular, and pharmacological properties allows a better understanding of glucocorticoid-mediated immunosuppression.
