Glucoamylase from Aspergillus niger (identical to Aspergillus awamori glucoamylase) is an industrially important, multidomain N- and O-glycosylated starch-hydrolase. To produce protein-engineered glucoamylase, heterologous expression is established in the methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris.
