BACKGROUND Ovarian cysts are found in some premenopausal women with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Liver cysts are the major extrarenal manifestations, frequently found in postmenopausal women. Female steroid hormones may regulate hepatic cystogenesis, but ovarian manifestations in postmenopausal women are unknown.
