In this paper, we consider a relay-assisted uplink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system where two radio frequency (RF) users are grouped for simultaneous transmission, over each resource block, to an intermediate relay which forwards the amplified version of the users' aggregated signals in the presence of multiuser interference to a relatively far destination. In order to cope with the users' ever-increasing desire for higher data rates, a high-throughput free-space optics (FSO) link…

Optimal power allocation and harvesting duration for mixed RF/FSO using Non Orthogonal Multiple Access
It is shown that power allocation and harvesting duration optimization allow to increase the throughput of RF/FSO communications and considers two users' ranking techniques using average or instantaneous channel gains.

Performance Analysis of Nonorthogonal Multiple Access for Relaying Networks Over Nakagami-$m$ Fading Channels
This paper considers a NOMA-based relaying networks over Nakagami-$m$ fading channels, where the base station communicates with multiple mobile users simultaneously through the help of an amplify-and-forward (AF) relay and reports to outperform conventional OMA and provide better spectral efficiency and user fairness.
Link Allocation for Multiuser Systems With Hybrid RF/FSO Backhaul: Delay-Limited and Delay-Tolerant Designs
This paper derives the optimal fixed and adaptive link allocation policies for sharing the transmission time between the RF links based on the statistical and instantaneous channel state information (CSI) of the RF and FSO links, respectively.
Non-orthogonal multiple access for FSO backhauling
A dynamic NOMA scheme is developed which determines the optimal decoding order as a function of the channel state information at the CU and the quality of service requirements of the BSs, such that the outage probabilities of both BSs are jointly minimized.
Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access in Coordinated Direct and Relay Transmission
It is shown that the proposed N OMA in CDRT provides remarkable performance gain compared with NOMA in non-coordinated direct and relay transmission (nCDRT); the sum capacity scaling of the proposed scheme is log ρb as signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) ρB increases, but 1/2log ρ b for NOMa in nCDRt.

This letter design non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) for multiple-antenna relaying networks, and simulation results are presented to show the correctness of the theoretical analysis and the superiority of NOMA.
Theoretical Analysis of the Dynamic Decode Ordering SIC Receiver for Uplink NOMA Systems
Instead of successive interference cancellation (SIC) for uplink non-orthogonal multiple access systems with fixed decoding order based on the statistical channel state information (CSI), we focus on
Performance Analysis of the Asymmetric Dual-Hop Relay Transmission With Mixed RF/FSO Links
This letter reports a performance analysis of a dual-hop relay system composed of asymmetric radio-frequency and free-space optics (RF/FSO) links. This approach is based on the fact that FSO links
Forwarding Strategy Selection in Dual-Hop NOMA Relaying Systems
Non-orthogonal multiple-access (NOMA) with perfect successive interference cancellation with fixed and optimized power allocation is applied to dual-hop relaying systems, where the signals are transmitted with the aid of either decode- and-forward (DF) or amplify-and- forward (AF) relay.
Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access With Cooperative Full-Duplex Relaying
Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed FD cooperative NOMA system attains better performance than the half-duplex cooperative N OMA system in the moderate signal-to-noise ratio regime.
