THE YERKES OBSERVATORY.—From a note in the Astrophysical Journal for June, we learn that the construction of the buildings of the Yerkes Observatory is advancing rapidly, and it is hoped the 4O-inch refractor will be ready for use in September or October. The Observatory is situated on the shores of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, at an elevation of 180 feet above the lake, and is about seventy-five miles from Chicago.
