The present study describes the unexpected finding of evoked otoacoustic emissions (EOAEs) from the left ear of a subject with severe-to-profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. No EOAEs could be measured from the right ear. To ensure that the EOAEs were not artifacts, two different instrumentation systems were used and both provided similar results.
