Oscillating Neutrinos and Majorana Neutrino Masses

  title={Oscillating Neutrinos and Majorana Neutrino Masses},
  author={Harald Fritzsch},
We discuss the mass matrices with texture zeros for the quarks and leptons. The flavor mixing angles for the quarks are functions of the quark masses and can be calculated. The results agree with the experimental data. The texture zero mass matrices for the leptons and the see-saw mechanism are used to derive relations between the matrix elements of the lepton mixing matrix and the ratios of the neutrino masses. Using the measured neutrino mass differences, the neutrino masses can be calculated…

A neutrino is a subatomic particle that is very similar to an electron, but has no electrical charge and a very small mass. Neutrinos are one of the most abundant particles in the universe. Because

Lepton Mass Hierarchy and Neutrino Oscillations

Neutrino Mass Determination from a Four-Zero Texture Mass Matrix

We analyze the different parametrizations of a general four-zero texture mass matrices for quarks and leptons, that are able to reproduce the CKM and PMNS mixing matrices. This study is done through

Updated values of running quark and lepton masses

Reliable values of quark and lepton masses are important for model building at a fundamental energy scale, such as the Fermi scale M-Z approximate to 91.2 GeV and the would-be GUT scale Lambda(GUT)

Horizontal Symmetry and Masses of Neutrinos

A striking and puzzling phenomenon 1s that neutrinos appear nearly massless in contrast to all other leptons and quarks. The left-handed neutrinos may combine with their chiral partners (if they

Neutrino Masses, Cosmological Bound and Four Zero Yukawa Textures

Four zero neutrino Yukawa textures in a specified weak basis, combined with μτ symmetry and type-I seesaw, yield a highly constrained and predictive scheme. Two alternately viable 3×3 light neutrino

Four-zero neutrino Yukawa textures in the minimal seesaw framework

We investigate, within the type I seesaw framework, the physical implications of zero textures in the Yukawa couplings which generate the neutrino Dirac mass matrix ${m}_{D}$. It is shown that four
