In this paper, we investigate orthogonal planar search (OPS) for coronary artery centerline extraction to assist in coronary artery diseases diagnosis. The search mechanism exploits a data-driven algorithm to extract the centerline. Firstly, the best representation of vessel cross section on orthogonal planar is determined. Then, the center of gravity from the crosssection is computed as centerline point iteratively. Branching detection and termination are invoked in this proposed method. We…
Automatic centerline extraction of cerebrovascular in 4D CTA based on tubular features.
This paper presents a novel method to extract cerebrovascular centerlines from four-dimensional computed tomography angiography images and demonstrates that the proposed algorithm shows higher accuracy in complicated vessel structures, but also outperforms previous approaches in terms of high validity and universality.
Curve computation by geodesics and graph modelling for polymer analysis
An automatic method to extract the curve representing a polymer chain, useful for chemical studies, which relies on computing several geodesics by browsing distinct parts of the shape by considering the fusion as a graph traversal problem.
A detailed survey of various cardiac vessel extraction techniques available in the literature used for the diagnosis of CAD is given and the performance results of Frangi's vesselness measure of various 3D cardiac images are presented.

Coronary Artery Centerline Tracking Using Axial Symmetries
We present a method for tracking a coronary artery centerline given a single user supplied distal endpoint. Briefly, we first isolate the aorta and compute its surface. Next, we apply a novel
Two Point Minimum Cost Path Approach for CTA Coronary Centerline Extraction
In this work a minimum cost path approach is adopted to extract coronary artery centerlines from CTA data. The algorithm depends on the manual definition of the start and end point of the vessel. The
A Neighbourhood Search Feedback for Coronary Artery Centerline Tracking
A neighbourhood search feedback mechanism in centerline tracking to overcome error propagation and seed point optimization where the defined seed point is optimized before tracking is initialized and Backward-Forward Correlation Verification to verify the points before propagate in the tracking process.
Shape and Appearance Models for Automatic Coronary Artery Tracking
Results show that – compared to human intra-observer variations – the presented method performs worse for accuracy measures, but slightly better for overlap measures.
Coronary Centerline Extraction Using Multiple Hypothesis Tracking and Minimal Paths
An interactive approach to the identification of coronary arteries in 3D angiography images is described, based on a novel multiple hypothesis tracking methodology which is complemented with a standard minimal path search, and it allows for a complete segmentation with little manual labor.
Automatic Coronary Tree Modeling
An automatic method for extracting center axis representations (centerlines) of coronary arteries in contrast enhanced (CE)-CT angiography scans using a graph-based optimization algorithm using multi-scale medialness filters.
Robust Vessel Tree Modeling
A graph-based optimization algorithm which employs multi-scale medialness filters extracts vessel centerlines by computing the minimum-cost paths by assigning a saliency measure for each centerline from their length and radius information.
Coronary Artery Tracking in 3D Cardiac CT Images Using Local Morphological Reconstruction Operators

Connected Component and Morpholgy Based Extraction of Arterial Centerlines of the Heart
This document describes a novel scheme for the automated extraction of the central lumen lines of coronary arteries from computed tomography angiography (CTA) data. The scheme first obtains a
Edge Based Tube Detection for Coronary Artery Centerline Extraction
This work presents an automatic approach for the extraction of the coronary artery central lumen lines from CTA datasets that consists of generic methods for detection of tubular objects, extraction of their centerlines, grouping of the single centerlines into complete tree structures, and some application specific adaptions for the identification ofThe coronary arteries.
