Organizational design issues in the structure of hospitals.


This paper concerns health care organizations. Its focus is on the design and structure of institutions responsible for the delivery of health care services. The perspective presented is that of management. Management is a field of study and practice concerned ultimately with the use of scarce resources such as people, money, time, space, supplies and equipment. Social, legal, economic, psychological, and financial dimensions of organizations are all important in management.
