Anterograde tracing with Phaseolus vulgaris leucoagglutinin (PHA‐L) and intra‐axonal recording and injection techniques were employed to describe the projection from the trigeminal (V) brainstem complex to the deep laminae of the superior colliculus (SC) in the hamster and the rat. The organization of these projections was the same in the two species.
