The purpose of this chapter is to present how Ordered Fuzzy Numbers (OFNs) can be used with financial high-frequency time series. Considering this approach the financial data are modeled using OFNs called further ordered fuzzy candlesticks. Their use allows modeling uncertainty associated with financial data and maintaining more information about price movement at an assumed time interval than compared to commonly used price charts (e.g., Japanese Candlestick chart). Furthermore, in a simple…
On Ordered Fuzzy Numbers Generated By Time Series.
TLDR
A new trapezoidal ordered fuzzy number representation of windowed time series based on the idea of a Japanese candlestick to those previously proposed in the literature to offer further insight into many other data driven situations is proposed.
On Approximation of Any Ordered Fuzzy Number by A Trapezoidal Ordered Fuzzy Number
TLDR
The purpose of the study is to propose some methods of approximating any order fuzzy number using a trapezoidal ordered fuzzy number, and these methods are currently used in such multi-criterial decision making models as financial portfolio management, evaluation of negotiations offers, the fuzzy TOPSIS model, and the fuzzy SAW model.
Revision of the Kosiński's Theory of Ordered Fuzzy Numbers
TLDR
The Kosinski’s theory is modified in this way that the space of ordered fuzzy numbers is closed under revised arithmetic operations and it is shown that the multiple revised sum of finite sequence ofordered fuzzy numbers depends on its summands ordering.
On Present Value Evaluation under the Impact of Behavioural Factors Using Oriented Fuzzy Numbers
TLDR
The main aim of the paper is to propose some method of soft computing PV evaluated under the impact of behavioural factors, called the oriented BPV (O-BPV), which is evaluated by oriented fuzzy numbers which are more useful for portfolio analysis than fuzzy numbers.

Financial Fuzzy Time Series Models Based on Ordered Fuzzy Numbers
TLDR
The purpose of this chapter is to present an original concept of financial fuzzy time series models based on financial data in the form of Japanese Candlestick Charts using Ordered Fuzzy Numbers (OFN) called further OrderedFuzzy Candlesticks (OFC).
Modelling Financial High Frequency Data Using Ordered Fuzzy Numbers
TLDR
The goal of the paper is to present an original concept of representation of financial high frequency data using Ordered Fuzzy Numbers that allows the transition from high frequencyData to lower frequency data while maintaining more information about price movement at assumed time interval than using the popular price charts.

TLDR
The analysis of potential of the Kosinski's Fuzzy Number (KFN) idea in the modeling trends of the processes which are described imprecisely is presented and explained basing on the example of modeling of quantity of liquid in a reservoir.
Defuzzification and implication within ordered fuzzy numbers
TLDR
This new model uses the extension of the parametric representation of convex fuzzy numbers and overcomes known drawbacks of the classical approach to solve the fuzzy arithmetic problem of ordered fuzzy numbers.
On fuzzy number calculus
TLDR
The commonly accepted theory of fuzzy numbers is that set up by Dubois and Prade (1978), who proposed a restricted class of membership functions, called (L,R)–numbers with shape functions L and R, which leads to some drawbacks that concern properties of fuzzy algebraic operations.

TLDR
The publication shows the way of implementing arithmetic operations on fuzzy numbers based on Ordered Fuzzy Numbers, a logarithm and exponentiation was added, which allows to obtain outcomes for real numbers in spite of using the fuzzy values.
Ordered fuzzy numbers
TLDR
Arithmetic operations defined on ordered fuzzy numbers enable to avoid some drawbacks of the classical approach and leads to a novel concept of an ordered fuzzy number, represented by the ordered pair of real continuous functions.
Defuzzification Functionals of Ordered Fuzzy Numbers
TLDR
Motivations for introducing the extended class of convex fuzzyNumbers, for convex as well for ordered fuzzy numbers, are presented, together with operations on them.
Analysis of Financial Time Series
TLDR
The author explains how the Markov Chain Monte Carlo Methods with Applications and Principal Component Analysis and Factor Models changed the way that conventional Monte Carlo methods were applied to time series analysis.
