The objective of this paper is to discuss some of the significant features of an orchestra canopy in general, and the panel array in particular. Many factors that affect the acoustical conditions on a stage appear to be very sensitive to the design and positioning of the orchestra canopy. Among the common design issues are those concerning size, geometry and patterns of elements forming a canopy array.
