Abstract: In her 2009 interview with Linda Lenzke, Donna Biddle talks about her upbringing in a conservative community in Indiana, the educational path that led her to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her early experiences within the Madison gay community of the 1960s and 70s. She discusses the following topics: secrecy about sexual orientation at UW in the 1960s and 1970s, the emergence of the lesbian community in 1970s Madison, Lysistrata, 1960s war protests, the Wisconsin Political Caucus, working for the State of Wisconsin, the founding of the New Harvest Foundation.
