A procedure for the definition of optimum spectral transmission curves for any solid-state (especially silicon-based CCD) color camera is presented. The design of the target curves is based on computer simulation of the camera system and on the use of test colors with known spectral reflectances. Color errors are measured in a uniform color space (CIELUV) and by application of the Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage color difference formula. Dielectric filter stacks were designed by…

Real-time digital color processor for a programmable, high-resolution CCD camera with high colorimetric accuracy
In the course of ESPRIT II project No. 2103 (MASCOT) a high performance color CCD camera was developed. It is based on a 1K X 1K frame-transfer CCD imager whose pixels are covered with an optimized
Colorimetric modeling for vision systems
TLDR
It appears that the proposed technique can establish an accurate colorimetric model for vision systems, and a spectral matching method and an approach of determining a reference-white luminance are presented.
The Geometry of Noise in Color and Spectral Image Sensors
TLDR
Having definitions of signal to noise ratio for each steps of spectral or color reconstruction, this work compares performances of different types of sensors (RGB,RGBW, RGBWir, CMY, RYB, RGBC).
Optimization of sensor response functions for colorimetry of reflective and emissive objects
TLDR
This paper describes the design of color filters for a surface color measurement device designed to measure emissive as well as reflective surfaces and formulate a nonlinear optimization problem with the goal of minimizing error in the uniform color space CIE L*a*b*.

Analysis Multispectral Image Capture
TLDR
The use of multispectral cameras can lead to dramatically improved colorimetric accuracy in comparison with three-channel devices, and three methods of spectral reconstruction were evaluated: spline interpolation, modified-discrete-sine-transformation (MDST), and an approach based on principal-component analysis (PCA).
Control of Spectral Photosensitivity in Stacked Color Sensors: Proposal and Theoretical Analysis
To capture a realistic and pleasing full-color two-dimensional representation of a scene, we propose and analyze stacked color sensors that incorporate a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) with a

TLDR
A new comprehensive error metric that is a flexible trade-off between color accuracy and RMS noise is proposed and the linear matrix that converts the device signals to device independent color signals is analytically optimized by minimizing this comprehensiveerror metric.
Optimal color filters in the presence of noise
TLDR
Since the results indicate that a significant improvement in color correction accuracy is achieved by using four channels, there is good reason to consider using four-tuples for representation of colorimetric information.
Performance analysis of a color CMOS photogate image sensor
The performance of a color CMOS photogate image sensor is reported. It is shown that by using two levels of correlated-double sampling it is possible to effectively cancel all fixed-pattern noise due
