This paper proposes an algorithm for the sub pixel motion compensation of H.264 that could be useful in the implementation of efficient and computationally less intensive motion compensation scheme especially for DSP processors. Our method divides the motion compensation scheme defined in the H.264 standard in to three separate steps and tackles each one individually.
