This paper proposes a finite-horizon and time-varying demand rate function formulations for the optimal manufacturing batch size model with rework. The basic model is found in [Jamal et al. Comput. Ind. Eng. 47 (2004) 77–89.]. Two policies 1 and 2 are considered. In Policy 1 defective items produced in a given period are remanufactured within thesame period while Policy 2 accumulates the defective items until the last period. The search for the optimal manufacturing batch size for policies 1…

Optimal Batch Production with Rework Process for Products with Time-Varying Demand Over Finite Planning Horizon

In this paper a finite planning horizon, production–inventory model with rework, is considered. During the production process defective items are produced. These items, after the end of the

A fuzzy imperfect production and repair inventory model with time dependent demand, production and repair rates under inflationary conditions

TLDR
An integrated inventory model for imperfect production/remanufacturing process with time varying demand, production and repair rates under inflationary environment with sensitivity analysis performed in order to know the impact of different parameters on the optimal policy.

Optimal strategies for members in a two-echelon supply chain over a safe period under random machine hazards with backlogging

ABSTRACT This study contributes to analyzing the effect of disruption in the manufacturing process in a two-echelon supply chain involving a manufacturer and a retailer. Prior studies failed to cover

A Sustainable Economic Recycle Quantity Model for Imperfect Production System with Shortages

TLDR
The aim of this study is to minimize the total cost and identify the optimal order quantity and the manufacturing process with the recycling process provides a better result compared to without recycling in the first case.

This work proposes a general methodology for finding an optimal inventory policy for general demand rate functions for the integrated replenishment-production batching model of Omar and Smith (2002).

Optimal Batch Ordering Over a Finite Planning Horizon

This paper is concerned with finding an optimal inventory policy for a finite horizon, two-stage inventory model. In this model, products may be manufactured in two stages. The first stage uses raw

Effect of rework, rejects and inspection on lot size with work-in-process inventory

The economic order quantity and economic production quantity models are the most commonly used inventory models in production environments for the calculation of optimum lot size. However, these
