Great emphasis is paid on transverse flux permanent motors (TFPM) in recent years especially in powerful propulsion system. However, the cogging torque in TFPM leads to mechanical vibration and noise inevitably. This paper presents a new TFPM with combined stator and concentrating flux rotor configurations.
